Optrontec won 2012 World-Class Products of Korea for seven consecutive years in Infrared cut filter business and was certified

as a Korean Hidden Champion in 2012. In 2013, the company became world market leader in Blue Filter market share, and in

2015, it succeeded in commercializing the world’s first Black Masking Film Filter. In 2019, Optrontec developed and mass-

produced the optical prism for the world's first smartphone Folded Zoom Camera. At the same time, the company also mass-

produced the world’s first aperture for smartphone cameras, expanding its core optical components portfolio to include optical

lenses, optical filters, and actuators for mobile cameras. Since entering the glass lens business for autonomous vehicles in 2017,

Optrontec has also ventured into the core optical components sector of the next-generation automotive industry. By supplying

optical lenses for large electric vehicles in North America and providing logo lamps for finished medium-large vehicles in Europe,

Optrontec has expanded their business area from core optical components for smartphones to core optical components for

next-generation vehicles. In 2023, we successfully developed and mass-produced an 8-inch dual-junction glass wafer for Micro

Lens Array (MLA), a key optical component for the premium Genesis Smart Head Lamp of Hyundai Motor in South Korea, using

our own technology, and we are currently supplying it sequentially to all Genesis vehicle models. The technology behind this

product is the result of a synergy between 35 years of accumulated core optical expertise and next-generation semiconductor

technologies. It represents a next-generation core optical technology whose applications are rapidly expanding in line with the

development of Full Self-Driving (FSD) and AI technologies. This technology is growing as a new key technology for lighting optics

in next-generation autonomous vehicles, and it is changing the paradigm of optical technology in the automotive industry. The

transformation of their technology and business portfolio is being driven by the innovative leadership of CEO Mr. Jeong, who

joined the company in 2021. Mr. Jeong, known as a legend in the camera industry, began his journey with Samsung’s first camera

phone for Anycall in 2000. Over the next 20 years, he developed and mass-produced the best camera technologies for Galaxy

smartphones. Not only did he introduce high-performance, feature-rich camera modules, but he also led the shift from over 130

years of film and digital camera demand to smartphone camera modules, completely changing the global optical camera

market. His innovations, such as Auto Focus, 3G video call cameras, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) cameras, Dual Cameras, and

Folded Zoom Cameras, transformed the camera industry. His work led to the rapid growth of the global market, with demand

reaching over 4.5 billion units. Mr. Jeong was also instrumental in the development of high-performance cameras for devices

such as Motorola’s Razr phone, Galaxy smartphones, BlackBerry, and smartphones from Chinese brands like Xiaomi, Oppo, and

Vivo, as well as camera phones in Japan and Europe. In 2007, Mr. Jeong expanded into the automotive sector by entering the

automotive camera module market. He integrated smartphone and autonomous vehicle cameras, pioneering new camera

module technologies and business opportunities. Under Mr. Jeong’s leadership, Optrontec began restructuring its global

business in 2022. The company fused semiconductor technologies with its filter deposition technology to expand into new

lighting optical technologies. It has also broadened its business by venturing into high-performance filter systems for the

automotive sector in North America and the next-generation high-performance lens market for autonomous vehicles, while

innovating and commercializing second-generation high-performance film filters for mobile devices. The company is also

accelerating preparations for next-generation Prism and Actuator technologies. Looking ahead to 2024, Optrontec has set its

vision to "Leap into a Global Enterprise," aiming to expand its market reach beyond Korea to include North America, China, and

Europe. With a foundation of innovative optical components technology, the company plans to lead the next-generation

technologies in both mobile and automotive camera modules, driving the evolution of the global camera module market for

smartphones and vehicles.
